TITLE: Outside In

Is the antagonist in this work hiding or seeking? Halfway in or halfway out of the frame? Black or white? Square or round? One, two, three dimensional? Outside In is my first ever illusional artwork. It goes back to the fascination of the seduction of the brain in my childhood. I played with the possibilities of transforming a two-dimensional surface into a three-dimensional shape. Outside In can be what your eyes or your mood want it to be. It changes, just like you. It has different angles, just like me. It’s formed by different shapes. Just like us. For me, it was a long-lingering dream, that became finally became real and in a sense was no longer just an illusion.

MATERIALS: mixed media (wood, metal, paint, clay).
